1997-98 (SO): Earned his first career All-America honor with a fifth-place finish at the 1998 NCAA Championships...rebounded from a first-round loss at the NCAA meet with five wins and only one loss...upset Illinois’ No. 4 seed Jevon Herman to take fifth at NCAAs...finished fourth at the 1998 Big Ten meet with a 2-2 mark...posted a 29-6 record this season, including a 14-2 record in dual-meet action...ranked in the nation’s top 20 all season, finishing the season ranked 14th in the nation and fourth in the Big Ten...reeled off 21 wins to open the season...finished first at the Bison and Northern Opens with a 4-0 record at each...recorded six pins, five major decisions and three technical falls on the year...Academic All-Big Ten selection and U of M Scholar-Athlete...co-recipient of the team’s Upperclassman Academic Award...also named co-winner of the Most Dedicated Wrestler Award.

1995-96: Recipient of outstanding freshman academic award…redshirted in 1995-96…posted a 14-4 overall record wrestling unattached at 177… captured titles at the UNO Open and Iowa Central Open…recorded two pins… placed second at Cornhusker Challenge.
High School: Named a high school All-American by Amateur Wrestling News and USA Wrestling…Junior National champion as a senior…three-time Montana state champion…also earned three letters in football.
